A two-day workshop was successfully organized at St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions in
collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on February 13,14, providing 57
students and 18 faculty members with hands-on training in modern software
development methodologies and industry practices. The initiative aimed to bridge the
gap between academia and industry, equipping participants with practical knowledge
and real-world applications.
The workshop commenced with an introduction to Agile methodologies, emphasizing its
evolution from the traditional Waterfall model to a more flexible and iterative approach.
Participants were introduced to key Agile roles, including the Scrum Master, Product
Owner, and Scrum Team, gaining insights into effective project management. The
highlight of the day was the Agile Airplane Challenge, where teams applied Scrum
principles to design, build, and refine an airplane model through multiple Agile sprints.
This engaging hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, adaptability, and continuous
improvement, allowing participants to experience Agile in a dynamic setting.
The second day of the workshop delved into CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and
cloud computing, focusing on the significance of collaborative software development
and deployment strategies. Participants engaged in case-study-based problem-solving,
gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and frameworks to develop
efficient and automated workflows.
