A one-day workshop on Azure Virtual Machines and Networking was conducted at St.
Joseph’s Group of Institutions on February 8, 2025, in collaboration with the Microsoft
Learn Student Community and PEP Cloud Computing and DevOps Centre. The session
was led by Mr. Naveen Kumar, an industry expert, and was attended by over 160
students.
The workshop provided hands-on exposure to Azure Virtual Machines, covering key
concepts such as disk snapshots, VM resizing, server scaling, and troubleshooting.
Additionally, students gained insights into Azure networking, including Virtual
Networks, Subnets, Network Security Groups (NSG), Application Security Groups (ASG),
Virtual Network Peering, Bastion, Firewalls, Route Tables, Network Watcher, and Virtual
Network Gateways.
The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to engage in real-world
problem-solving while gaining a deeper understanding of cloud infrastructure. Many
students found the explanations clear and the hands-on exercises valuable in
simplifying complex cloud computing topics. The workshop concluded with a Q&A
session, where Mr. Naveen Kumar addressed technical queries and provided guidance on
industry trends and career opportunities in cloud computing.
