The bureau organizes insightful sessions conducted by industry professionals, academic experts, and distinguished alumni. These interactions offer students clarity on higher education trends, preparation methods, and real-world academic experiences.

3. Personal Counselling Support

Students receive individualized guidance for:

4. Exam Preparation Assistance

ABHS maintains a comprehensive collection of preparatory materials—books, practice tests, CDs, and sample papers—to support exams such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, GATE, and CAT.

5. Orientation & Student Awareness Programs

Engaging orientations are conducted to help students, especially freshers, understand the long-term importance of planning for higher studies, skill-building, and identifying academic goals early.

BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE (BEC)

The Business English Certificate (BEC), awarded by the University of Cambridge, was a globally recognized qualification assessing English proficiency in workplace contexts. At our institution, BEC training was provided to all second-year students, followed by the official examination conducted on campus by the University of Cambridge. This skill-based certification enabled students to develop practical language abilities and demonstrate their proficiency to employers.

BEC was offered at three levels—Preliminary, Vantage, and Higher. Each year, a diagnostic test was conducted to place students in the appropriate level, followed by targeted training. Students were assessed in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with tasks drawn from real-world workplace scenarios to ensure relevance and practical application.

For seven consecutive years, the BEC examination was successfully conducted at our college campus. In 2022, the University of Cambridge rebranded the BEC qualification as Linguaskills, continuing its legacy of workplace-focused English assessment under a new format.

Our college has been consistently recognized for excellence in English language training. For seven consecutive years, we received the Best Preparatory Centre Award from Cambridge English Qualifications for successfully conducting the Business English Certificate (BEC) examination on campus.

Additionally, we were honored as one of South Asia’s Top 25 Preparation Centres for Higher Education during 2016–2018, a testament to our commitment to global academic standards.

The BEC program has played a pivotal role in enhancing students’ language proficiency, making them more competent and confident in professional settings. It has fostered cross-cultural communication skills and contributed to the overall development of our students. Through international certification, BEC has significantly boosted their confidence levels and career readiness.

Linguaskill

Linguaskill, developed by Cambridge English, is a cutting-edge English language assessment designed for the modern workplace. It replaces the Business English Certificate (BEC) and continues its legacy of empowering students with internationally recognized communication skills.

ABHS FACILITIES

Students interested in pursuing higher education register as members of the Advisory Bureau for Higher Studies (ABHS) from their second year onwards. Registered members can avail all ABHS facilities free of cost.

At the beginning of every semester, an orientation session is conducted to familiarize students with the bureau’s functions and resources, helping them plan their preparation for higher studies.

Infrastructure and Resources

ABHS is equipped with infrastructure worth approximately ₹10 lakhs, which includes:

• Computers, books, and CDs for competitive exams such as GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, CAT, and others

• A collection of 600+ books and 200+ CDs accessible to students

Students are also eligible for on-duty leave to attend entrance exams and interviews related to higher education.
