Introduction
The Advisory Bureau for Higher Studies (ABHS) was inaugurated in the year 2013. It has been functioning as a separate wing with the prime notion to serve the student community for attaining higher studies admission in India and abroad. It provides all the necessary information, books and CDs regarding GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, GATE, CAT, and other exams qualifying exams for higher studies.
Objectives
The main objectives of ABHS is to
- Inspire students to pursue higher studies within India as well as abroad.
- Help students to perform well in tests such as GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, GATE, CAT, etc.
Activities
The main activities of ABHS is to
- Gather and supply information on various courses and admission requirements for higher studies.
- Organize guest lectures and seminars so as to equip the students for their higher studies.
Many Academicians have visited our campus and also briefed the students about the application process, scholarships, grants and other requirements in their respective universities.
Various Workshops and seminars are handled by resource persons Representatives of Foreign Embassies, Higher Studies agencies, and the Associate Directors, Deans, Department heads and faculty members of many educational institutions.

BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE (BEC)
The Business English Certificate (BEC), a certification from Cambridge University is a qualification in English for work. All the second year students are given BEC training for a week and then they take the BEC examination, conducted by the Cambridge University in our campus itself. The Business English Certificate (BEC) is a skill based qualification. It gives students an opportunity to learn practical language skills and show to employers how good they are in these skills. BEC certification is given under three levels – Preliminary, Vantage and Higher. Every year the diagnostic test is being conducted for all the students and they are categorized under the above three levels and training is being given to the students. To attain a BEC Certificate, students have been assessed in the four areas namely; listening, speaking, reading and writing. The tasks and questions are taken from real workplace situations. For the past seven years, BEC examination has been conducted by the Cambridge University in our College campus.

Our college has been awarded as a best preparatory centre award continuously for the past seven years for conducting BEC inside the campus by the Cambridge English Qualifications. We have been awarded as South Asia’s Best 25 preparation centers for higher education 2016-2018. BEC is relevant and has helped the students to become more competent and confident by improving language proficiency. BEC has developed cross-cultural communication skills and overall development of the students. It has an impact on confidence levels through international certification.
CAMPUS COACHING CLASSES
For the benefit of the Hostel students, coaching classes for the qualifying examinations like GRE, TOEFL, GATE and CAT are arranged in the campus itself with reputed training agencies at discounted fees. A lot of day scholars also join the programmes as it saves their time and money.
ABHS FACILITIES
The students interested in pursuing higher studies register as a member of ABHS from their second year onwards. The registered ABHS members can avail all the facilities available in the ABHS free of cost. At the beginning of every semester, an orientation session is conducted to make them aware of the functioning and facilities of ABHS and plan their preparation for higher studies. ABHS has infrastructure of about Rs. 8 lakhs, which includes computers, books and CDs for taking-up examination like GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, CAT etc. About 600 books and 200 CDs are available for the access of the students.- The students can avail on-duty for attending the above mentioned tests as well as interviews related with higher studies.
- The record of the alumni pursuing higher studies is maintained in ABHS.
