National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a permanent youth program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, funded by The Government of Tamil Nadu.
NSS is an extension dimension to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions.The cardinal principle of the NSS program is to make students organise the event by themselves thereby cultivating a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation-building. The activities of every academic year are planned by the University for affiliated college NSS units to execute. The motto of NSS is “Not Me, But You”.
Regularly conducted activities include
- Personality development programme.
- Campus beautification.
- Soft skill development programme.
- Computer coaching class for school children.
- Voluntary services for orphanage and old age home inmates.
- Celebration of NSS day every year on 24th September.
Our institution has been presented with “Tobacco Free Educational Institute” status.

Youth Red Cross (YRC)
The Youth Red Cross Society is managed by The Indian Red Cross state branches. The youth represent a substantial part of the membership of the Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. The main objective of YRC movement is based on the principles of
- Protection of health and Life
- Service to the needy people
- Promotion of national and international friendship to develop the mental and moral capacity of the youth.
In consultation with the leading hospitals in Chennai, our students have made a panel of blood donors with their blood groups. At times of emergency the hospitals contact our YRC programme officer and our student members voluntarily donate blood.
