The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, St. Joseph's Institute of
Technology, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on "Agentic AI" on 23rd July 2026 at AV
Hall-I, Admin Block. The event was coordinated by Mrs. S. Vasanthi, Mrs. V. C. Ranganayaki, and
Mrs. E. Santhi Nisha, Assistant Professors, Department of CSE. A total of 264 students actively
participated in the guest lecture. The session provided valuable insights into the emerging
field of Agentic Artificial Intelligence, highlighting how AI agents can autonomously perceive,
reason, make decisions, and execute tasks with minimal human intervention. The session
enabled students to understand the significance of autonomous AI systems in solving real-
world problems and inspired them to explore advancements in intelligent agents and next-
generation AI technologies. The interactive discussion and question-and-answer session
further enriched the learning experience. Overall, the guest lecture was highly informative and
beneficial, equipping participants with a deeper understanding of Agentic AI and its growing
importance in the future of intelligent computing.

The GNU/Linux Users Group (GLUG) Club of the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering, St. Joseph's Institute of Technology, organized an interactive seminar
on "Building RAG and Agentic AI Solutions with Open-Source Tools" on 24th July 2026 from 10.00
AM to 12.00 PM at the CSE Smart Classroom for II Year GLUG Club members. The session was
coordinated by Dr. Sai Ramesh and Mrs. G. Smilarubavathy, with 52 students actively
participating. The programme was facilitated by Mr. Nareshkumar Perumalsamy, Advisor and
Product Developer, Gainwell Technologies, who delivered an insightful session on Retrieval-
Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI, highlighting their significance in building
intelligent, autonomous, and context-aware applications using open-source tools. He
explained the architecture of RAG pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, prompt
engineering, AI orchestration, and the integration of open-source frameworks for developing
          enterprise-grade AI solutions.
