The Department of ECE endeavors to continue its accomplishment from the year 2011 for Under
Graduation course (B.E.) with initial intake of 60. With the remarkable growth the intake
augmented to 120 in the year 2013 and to 180 from the year 2018. It is accredited by the
National Board of Accreditation since 2017 for its excellence. Also it is affiliated to Anna
University. The Department provides comprehensive knowledge to design, develop and
investigate the various Electronic equipment’s and Communication Systems. The state of art
Laboratory facilities enable the student’s with practical knowledge and paves way for research.
The department is fortified with highly qualified and influential faculty members with extensive
teaching experience and highly indexed publications in reputed National and International
Journals. There are totally 26 faculty with 10 Doctorates and 6 of them pursuing Ph.D.
We are proud to have membership under three professional bodies IEEE (Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers -World’s largest technical professional organization), IETE
(Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer - Professional Body for
Advancement of Science and Technology) and ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education -
National professional nonprofit society) for the promotion the development and application of
technology for benefit of students and society. We have 11 Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with reputed companies for the benefit of the students in terms of internship, implant
training and Industrial projects.
To get incite about the practical scenario in technology we arrange various industrial visits and
guest lectures for the students. To get par with extra-curricular activities we have department
club such as Electronics and Robotics and also our college clubs such as Google club, Eco-Sco
Club, CTS Student Club, St. Joseph’s Robo Club and Tamil Mandram to thrive the student’s
potential by conducting various technical and non-technical events. Also Inter and Intra
Department Symposiums are conducted to prove the students individual talents and team up
abilities. Cultural day and Sports day are conducted to bring out the other aptitudes of students.
Charity is a supreme virtue. To enable this we arrange NGO visits for all the students.
Overall, the Department strives to bring out the best of every student and bridges him/her as a
good ECE engineer ultimately to be useful to the society.
