An alumni talk on “Exploring Scope and
Placement Pathways in Cyber Security” was
delivered by Ms. Sharumathi S, an alumna of
the 2017–2021 batch (B.E. EEE), currently
working as a Security Analyst at Oportun. She
began the session by sharing her journey
from an electrical and electronics engineering
background into the cyber security field,
highlighting that students from any discipline
can enter this domain with the right skills and
dedication. Her experience motivated
students to start building their knowledge
early and remain consistent in their efforts.
On April 9, 2026, from 08:00 p.m. to 09:00 p.m., the
Department of Mathematics & English at St. Joseph’s
Institute of Technology organized an online Alumni
Interaction Meet via Google Meet for first-year CSE
students, titled “From Coding to AI: Evolving as a
Developer.” The session was led by alumnus Mr.
Rajin Gangadharan, currently an iOS Developer at
RemitBee Inc., who shared his journey from student
to professional, highlighting the importance of strong
coding fundamentals. He discussed the evolving role
of developers in the age of Artificial Intelligence,
emphasizing that AI should be seen as a tool for
empowerment rather than replacement, and
stressed the importance of the “AI verification skill,”
where developers must critically evaluate and refine
AI-generated code.
