Industrial Visits
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data
Science organized an industrial visit to Kamarajar Port in
Ennore on March 12, 2024, from 8 am to 4 pm. The visit
focused on providing participants with comprehensive
insights into port operations, logistics management,
and maritime infrastructure. Students gained valuable
knowledge about the role of Ennore Port in regional and
global trade, enhancing their understanding of
importing and exporting processes Delving into the
nuances of importing and exporting procedures,
attendees gained a profound understanding of the
intricate mechanisms underlying international
commerce. Overall, the visit was a great learning

logistics.
II year. This initiative aimed at augmenting their
academic journey by providing practical exposure
to electrical power transmission, distribution,
protective relays, and transformer maintenance.
Students had the rare opportunity to observe real-
world applications of theoretical concepts,
enhancing their understanding of the energy
sector. The visit facilitated familiarization with
industrial environments and practical knowledge
acquisition. Students gained insights into
substation operations, grid management, and
power distribution, enriching their educational
experience.
INDRA GANDHI CENTRE FOR ATOMIC RESEARCH The Department of Mechanical Engineering
organized an industrial visit to IGCAR on March 13,
2024, for 29 students from II year. IGCAR, the
Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, served
as an avenue to expose students to the practical
applications of mechanical engineering in nuclear
research. Through interactions with scientists and
engineers, students gained insights into reactor
design, material handling, and specialized
machinery. This firsthand experience
supplemented classroom learning, emphasizing
the pivotal role of mechanical engineering in
scientific research and development. The visit
focused on inspiring students towards careers in
this field by showcasing its significance in real-
world contexts.
